In November 2019, The Hunger Coalition purchased a property where together, we will build a bold, new solution to hunger.  We’re moving across the street from our current headquarters into a 13,000 sf building on four acres; a place where someday people from all walks of life can engage in a fresh approach to food security. Join us in envisioning the future with these beautiful renderings by Hollis Rumpeltes Architects.

The following parts of the Food Center will help us address a deep problem with a more holistic solution grounded in good food.

• Community Kitchen & Dining Area
• Nex Gen Food Pantry
• Year-round Greenhouses & Raised Bed Gardens

• Dedicated Partner Space

Bloom Community Food Center will be a place of pride. It will encourage health and human connection. Whether in growing, cooking, or sharing good food, everyone will be an important part of the whole. While we will continue to provide emergency food for people in crisis, there will be a greater variety of access options to answer the diverse needs of our community.

Much of our inspiration for these changes has come from a successful model in Canada. Watch this short video from our mentors to envision where we’re headed.

Join us to usher in this new era of food justice — where a box of canned goods will be replaced with farm-fresh food and election ballots. Your support will be needed more than ever as we look to double the number of people served and more deeply address the root causes of hunger.
