How do I donate food?
You can drop off all non-perishable food in one of our Bloom Bins, located at most grocery stores throughout the valley. Or, drop by Bloom Community Food Center M-Th 9-5. If you have a large donation, or are unsure if we can accept the items, please give us a call 208-788-0121.
*This month, we will be closed from December 26-30 so our staff can rest, recharge, and spend quality time with friends and family. If you are needing food, be sure to attend one of our food distributions on December 19 or 22. Monetary donations can be made 24/7 throughout the holidays on the donation page of our website here or dropped in the mailbox (thank you!) e-mail email@example.com with questions. How can my school or business hold a food drive?
Food Drives are a great way to help us raise awareness for our mission and donate good food! We’d be happy to deliver “Bloom Bins” for the collection of canned and boxed items. We’ve also included a Top 10 List of needed items below.
I have a birthday, wedding, or event coming up. Can I have my guests donate in lieu of gifts?
Absolutely! We’d be honored to celebrate your big day with you. Please email email@example.com to find out how.
Is my donation tax deductible? What is your EIN (tax-id) number?
Yes. We are a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax –deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. Our EIN number is 72-1582755. Please keep a copy of your email receipt as your official record.
How do I give a gift in honor of or in memory of someone?
We’d be happy to send a special note to a friend or loved one on your behalf. Simply click on the donate button and select “I’d like to give in honor/memory”. This will send an instant email to your contact. If you’d prefer a physical notecard to be sent, select “Add a donation note” and send us the person’s mailing address as well as any special note you’d like us to include. Are there other ways to give?
The Hunger Coalition accepts donations via stock, ACH, wire transfer, qualified charitable distributions (QCD) from an IRA and donor-advised funds. Can I manage my monthly donations or donor profile?
Yes! You can cancel payments, update your preferred credit card, change contact information, reset your password, and more through your Donor Dashboard. If you’d like to increase or decrease your monthly donation, or have any other questions, please contact us firstname.lastname@example.org or call 208-788-0121.
Step-by-step instructions for canceling your monthly donation:
- Log in to your personal Donor Dashboard
- Select the person icon in the upper right-hand corner
- Select “Monthly Gifts” from the drop-down menu
- Identify your monthly subscription & select the 3 dots to the right of it
- Select “Cancel Donation”
What are the fees associated with my donation?
For each credit card transaction, our payment processor- Stripe- charges 2.2% + $.30 transaction fee for non-Amex cards; 3.5% for Amex. There is additional 1% on all transactions from our donation platform, Harness. We are grateful for the 91% of donors who cover processing fees so more funds go directly to our root cause work.
