The Hunger Coalition has received $5,000 from the Gladys E. Langroise Advised Fund in the Idaho Community Foundation to support the Daily Bites program which supplies a healthy snack and supplemental food pantry in each participating school in the district.

“This is such an incredible gift from the Gladys E. Langroise Fund,” said Jeanne Liston,  Executive Director of The Hunger Coalition. “This support for Daily Bites helps ensure local children can receive a healthy snack to alleviate a growling belly, helping kids concentrate and thrive at school,” added Liston.

“Each one of our four Children’s Food Programs: the Snack Pack Club, Daily Bites, Summer Food Program and Infant Formula Initiative, has seen an increase in the number of children we’ve fed over the last year,” states Liston.  These programs provide supplemental nutrition to children of all ages, helping to support healthy physical, mental and emotional development while building a healthy community.

With the support of organizations like the Idaho Community Foundation and Gladys E. Langroise Advised Fund, The Hunger Coalition can ensure our community’s children have a real chance at becoming healthy, productive adults.

The Hunger Coalition strives to end hunger in our community by providing wholesome food to those in need and by promoting solutions to the underlying causes of hunger through collaboration, education and advocacy. For more information, visit www.thehungercoalition.org.
