3rd Annual Empty Bowls

Thank you to everyone who helped make our 3rd Annual Empty Bowls Event a huge success!  We raised nearly $5,000!!

No better symbol for hunger exists than an empty bowl.  In acknowledgment of those Blaine County residents struggling with hunger, Boulder Mountain Clayworks, The Hunger Coalition and a host of local chefs and caterers are filling bowls for the 3rd Annual Empty Bowls event on Sunday, January 20th from 12 noon – 2pm at the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood.

Purchase one of 300 one-of-a-kind bowls and enjoy a tasty selection of soups, hearty chili, fresh bread, crisp salads and even dessert for just $20!  All proceeds go to help local families facing hunger and struggling to make ends meet.  Call your friends & family and have a special lunch together while raising funds for The Hunger Coalition.

Special Thanks to Boulder Mountain Clayworks for dedicating hours of studio time, hosting workshops, and helping to create this remarkable array of hand-made, hand-painted ceramic bowls specifically for Empty Bowls!  The staff & volunteers at Boulder Mountain hope you will support their efforts to create a healthier and more vibrant community by promoting the Arts and working together to ensure there is food on the tables of our local families.

What is “Empty Bowls”?

A special fundraiser sponsored by Boulder Mountain Clayworks, the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood and The Hunger Coalition.  Developed after the international grassroots Empty Bowls project, this community fundraiser promotes awareness about the issue of hunger in our community.  With community involvement, and the generous support of Staff, Artisans, & Volunteers from Boulder Mountain Clayworks, there are over 300 one-of-a-kind ceramic bowls to select from.  Guests select the bowl of their choice for $20 and fill it with freshly prepared foods donated from local restaurants, caterers, & chefs, and enjoy a community lunch together.  All proceeds from the event are donated to The Hunger Coalition to provide local children and adults experiencing hunger with wholesome food and essential support.  Empty Bowls is graciously hosted by the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood with a wonderful gymnasium and kitchen facility.  Members of the congregation also volunteer their time to help!  This is truly a community event, where members of the community come together with the intention of helping others in the community who are less fortunate and struggling to make ends meet.

We appreciate your participation in the 3rd Annual Empty Bowls!
