 It's time for our annual Spring Corporate Food Drive!golden can winners

Local businesses have joined in a little friendly competition from April 30 - May 11 as they compete for the coveted Golden Can Award The goal is to collect the most non-perishable food donations (per employee ratio) and help stock the Food Bank Warehouse shelves. 

2012 Participants include: 

Sun Valley Resort, POWER Engineers, Wood River Corp., St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center, The Community Library and The Gold Mine, Idaho Mountain Express, Wood River High School, Sotheby's International Realty, Webb Garden & Landcape Centers in Bellevue and Ketchum and the Wood River YMCA

Cooking Matters!

 

This remarkable program empowers families by teaching essential cooking skills combined with nutrition, family health, and household budget information.  The Hunger Coalition is excited to offer this curriculum to our community members and are already hearing and seeing a tremendously positive result.  The 6-week course encourages  healthful eating and inexpensive food preparation and provides participants with a wealth of take-home information to share with their families.

Irrigation 101

Lend a hand fixing leaks and preparing irrigation lines at The Hope Garden in exchange for hands-on experience and advice from professional irrigation specialists! Saturday, May 19th from 10 - 11:30 am, spend your morning among plants & friends and learn important skills for long-term gardens. Don't forget your sunscreen!

Garden Maintenance

Saturday, May 26th from 10-11:30am.  Listen in on all of the secrets of an affordable garden here! Garden and Education Manager, Hallie Reikowsky, alongside several other local gardeners, will share all of her money & time saving secrets as we work together maintaining The Hope Garden. Bring sunscreen and a smile!

 Introducing a new Food Bank Distribution

Beginning Monday, April 30th the Bellevue Mobile Food Bank will be replaced by our new Food Bank Warehouse Distribution. With extended hours from 2 - 4 pm on Mondays, this new distribution takes place at our Food Bank Warehouse located at 121 Honeysuckle Street in Bellevue. Clients can enjoy greater privacy and longer hours while receiving the same quality & quantities of fresh and non-perishable foods available at the Mobile Food Bank distributions in Hailey & Ketchum.
